A Bug's Life - 1998
A Bug’s Life shows multiple themes. Dictatorship is one of these themes. Hopper, the lead grasshopper, and his gang go to the ant’s hill every blooming season to eat what the ants have collected for them. They had a deal, the ants gave the grasshoppers food and the grasshoppers didn’t squish the ant colony. Flik, the main character, has a great mind for inventions. He invents numerous things as the movie progresses. But unfortunately each time he invents something, something goes wrong and the colony gets mad at him. Flik never gives up believing in himself, which is a theme of the movie. Another theme is the value of allowing second chances.
