This method is a shortcut to quick ridding of snoring. Many hospitals offer surgical modern procedures. Nevertheless, the symptoms could return anytime if the patients fail to care for their own health or change their behavior. Worse yet, they might be cured of snoring but are left to face other diseases induced by past snoring such as heart disease, hypertension, stroke, etc.
Treatment by surgery may be done in various fashions, e.g. throat and soft palate surgery done to reduce the size of the soft palate, uvular and side walls of the throat. It may also be necessary to remove the tonsils to expand the airway.
Patients need to be sedated and kept for observation for a minimum of one night. The surgical wound will be sutured and heals in 1-2 weeks. Other examples are the surgery to shift the upper and lower jawbones to the front, and nasal surgery to open up the airway.
