Chandrayan -Historic voyage -destination moon

a mission to the moon by India.
the launch of chandrayan -1 marks a new chapter in the history of Indias space exploration programme.the lauch put india in a select club of five members that have carried out lunar missions.sending a spacecraft on a lunar missioninvolves navigating it, controlling it and communicating with it as it gravels deep into space towards the moon.

The first train

In the 1850s the railway began operating between Mumbai and Thane. The train was pulled by steam engine.the railway system was one of the few real benefits to come from British solonial rule at tis time, Even though it had been built more for the benefit of British traders than for the Indian people. Anothe was the system of electric telegraph lines which criss-crossed the land, carrying messages over thousands of miles.

Moving pictures

The first Indian feature film was made in the year 1913. It was called 'Raha Harishchandra' and was of course silent.The first Indian talkie film 'Alam Ara' was made in 1931 by Ardeshir M. Irani. Silnce then films have been made in every Indian language. Most of these films feature song and dance sequences, which have become an important part in Indian movies.The best popular films were made by Guru Dutt and Raj Kapoor. Satyajit Rays Pather Panchali and Appu films eventually earned him an Oscar for outstanding achievement.
Indian cinema does not just entertain, however it helps to put forward new social and political ideas, and so contributes to the development of modern India.

  • OPTICAL FIBRES

    An optical fibre is a thin strand of glass or plastic made from two types of materials.The inner part of a fibre is called core while the outer cover is called clad.It can carry light for long distances with help of total internal reflection. The practical optical fibre were developed in 1995 by an indian scientist Dr. Narender S Kapany working at imperial college,London.
