This project talks about the journey or history of the atomic theory from the very first civilizations to the modern renaissance physicists. It traces the path Atomic theory has traced over the past thousands of years and how even today some things still remain unexplained. Today scientists are striving to answer some of the various hefty questions that still trouble mankind. But the progress made by mankind till date is a silent reminder from how far we have come from our Greek ancestors. |

ˇ Atoms are so small that one million of them will make a centimeter if they are laid side by side. ˇ Atoms are the main constitution of everything in this world that occupies space. It is not wrong to say that atoms are the Building material of the universe. ˇ When Atoms are made to collide at high speeds they give out positrons. Positrons are similar to electrons in every sense except that positrons have a positive charge on them. ˇ There are more than 100 atoms each having different properties by virtue of their sub-atomic particles. ˇ Atoms combine in a range and variety of ways to ensure their stability. It is this property of atoms that makes them so difficult to study. ˇ Atoms consist of sub-atomic particles which are made of smaller particles along with some mass less constituents. These are smaller than our wildest imaginations.
