The people of Liberia strongly believed in tall tales such as the supernatual world that consists of witches and ghosts. They appear to have faith in the mystic world and conclude that the spiritual figures are far more realistic than Christianity states. Futhermore, majority of the Liberians explain that the cause for deaths or mystical creatures could be "because of the enemy". For example, a widowed woman currently experienced a tragic death of her only son and doctors cannot figure out the reason for the deadly case. However, Liberian people would suggest that her son's death was because of her husband that sworn vengeance on behalf of their divorce. The culture of Liberia also influences various secrets that truly persuade people in believing that miracles, transformations into animals, ghosts, or powerful beings do exist. An ordinary civilian can be given the chance to convert into a jaguar or lion during his/her lifetime.
Beliefs that take place in Liberia allow other religions such as Christianity, Islam, or Buddhism to take place. In Liberia, 40-60% of the people are followers of Christ and remain as a Christian, while there are 15% of Muslims. In addition, a Liberian woman shares one of her principles that explains everyones' personal most essential value in life either materialistic or not, establishes our actions everyday. Mental illness is a suffering that unlucky individuals receive because of drugs, voodoo, or talismen. Institutions in Liberia don't contribute much to the sickness but people believe it is a top priority.

The Liberian people range in a variety of traditional cultures that consists of ideas such as unique forms of dancing and masks that are worn during the performance. The people of Liberia celebrate once in a lifetime events with extraordinary dances that go along with call and answer songs. Each individuals are fascinated and filled with awe while watching the astonishing act. However, the dances not only serve as entertainment purposes but also a way to connect with ancestral spirits that are considered the top priority. According to the traditions of Liberia, only those special people that are with the secret societies are given an opportunity to learn such divine dances.
Second to the dancing traditions, the people of Liberia maintain basic ground rules that show respect. The "proper" way of greeting each Liberian is by first shaking hands followed by a snap of the fingers. In addition, the chief is the main ruler/head of the tribe that makes conclusions on decisions. As you can see, there were no political structures, just a chief that led the tribe. Very few traditional Liberian literature shows that the people focused on hunting or agriculture and life revolved around the village in the presence with your own people. Most importantly, with the help of Joseph Jenkins Roberts, the day of July 26, 1847 is the day that changed life for the Liberians. The country that used to be the place for freed African-Americans gathered was lost, instead an independent country came to be.
