Selection of flourescent lamp plays an important role in lowering energy cost. Larger flourescent lamps have been mostly used in large buildings whereas CFL is an excellent energy saving alternative in homes.It uses less power with same amount of light. It lasts longer also.
Use natural lights as much as possible.

Overhead lighting can be avoided and light only at a specific area.
