The Spirit Lodge

The spirit lodge was built to house the great Indian chief Quaquahela. He decided one day to visit the tribe far to the south of their village. he set out on the journey at dusk. He paddled across the lake and then walked inland to his friends lodge were he would spend the day before he continued on his journey. However, he had only gone a few yards when he heard a fearsome snarl.

He turned and saw a bear rushing out at him. He was well armed with his war club and hunting gear, but the bear was his totem so he could not kill or attack it. Then, the bear attacked Quaquahela once more time. Quaquahela tried to drive the bear of with his war club, but he could not. After one more swing, the bear had finally ran away to find another pry. He crawled away, but died a moment later.

Form then on, any one who gives a friendly shout out to receive a friends call back will receive his echoing reply.
