An Interview with Mr. Ramashankar

We interviewed Mr. Ramashankar Verma who is a Professor in Biotech Department in IIT Madras. Mr. Ravishankar Verma explained the uses and benefits of biotechnology. Biotechnology is used in the degradation of non-biodegradable components of the environment. It minimizes time, space and is biologically a safe method. It helps to find new technologies to prevent environmental degradation. Microbes such as streptococcus, micrococcus, staphylococcus and pseudomonas help in degrading polymers. It was a memorable interview.

Mrs. Susy is an Assistant Professor in the Humanities Science Block in IIT Madras. Her flamboyance and eloquence mesmerized us. She emphasized mainly on eco-design. Eco-design deals with manufacturing eco-friendly products. In today’s era of technological development manufacturers mainly concentrate on the efficiency of their products but they do not bother about the damage it causes to the environment. So with Eco-design, we can develop our Earth into an eco-friendly planet.
