WHAT ARE MORAL VALUES?

Moral values are the standards of good and evil which control a person's behaviour and choices.Morals of a person can be obtained from society, religion, school, family or self.If the morals are obtained from the society then they will change as and when the laws of the society change.e.g.childhood marriages were once morally right but no they are considered to be wrong. If the morals are aquired from religion then many of the morals,do' and dont's are same except a few. Most religions have built in lists of do's and dont's,a set of codes by which its followers should live.e.g.In HINDUISM and CHRISTIANITY a person can have only one wife at a time, but in ISLAM one can have four wives at a time. If the morals are derived from a family then a child learns so many values like sharing, caring, love, unity, cooperation, tolerance etc.according to the values of the family. If the morals are aquired from the school then a child learns so many values which are important for being a good person and citizen.

A person without moral values is like a body without soul.It is the soul which breathes life into an otherwise inanimate peice of clay, and transforming it into a living peice of creation.
It is through our inter-relationships in a living society, that our values get full scope of expression. It is an obvious fact that the essence of all human relationships to basically founded upon the presence or absence of values.Take 'love' for instance. All personal relationships,be it friendship, marriage, parental care, are woven into intricate patterns with the binding thread of love.
