Ronald Reagan

in office 1981-1989

Ronald Reagan (born February 6 th 1911) reassured the country, when scientists had came up with the theory of global warming. Ronald Reagan had one of the leading scientists explain that global warming was unlikely to happen but if it did any changes would happen slowly. 61 days after being inaugurated he was shot by who would have been his assassin but Reagan quickly recovered. Reagan obtained legislation to stimulate economic growth, curb inflation, increase employment, and strengthen national defense. He embarked upon a course of cutting taxes and Government expenditures, refusing to deviate from it when the strengthening of defense forces led to a large deficit. At the end of his administration, the Nation was enjoying its longest recorded period of peacetime prosperity without recession or depression.
