The Indian Moon Moth (Actias selene) is a large moth found in peninsular India, Japan, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Burma and Pakistan.This species is popular among amateur entomologists and is often reared from eggs or cocoons that are available from commercial sources.

Like all the moths this species is a nocturnal dweller and rest with its wings spread out to its sides.

Our study is restricted to butterflies and shall not elaborate further in Moths.
