The Common Pierrot (Castalius rosimon) is a small butterfly found in South East Asia and India.

The upper side is white with black edges. The underside is white with black spots on it.

This butterfly is fond of sunshine and basking more after the rains. It Visits flowers, damp patches, dead insects and bird droppings.

We managed to spot this butterfly on 4th Mar 2009 in our school garden during the afternoon. It was a thrilling experience for us.
