The Common Jezebel (Delias eucharis) is a medium sized butterfly found in India and many other parts of Asia. The wing-span of the butterfly is 6.5 to 8.5 cm.
The upperside of the butterfly is white with black triangular formation. The underside of the wing shows vivrant yellow colouration with black triangular shapes in a definite pattern.
It is commonly seen in gardens. The males are mud-puddlers. It rests with wings closed exhibiting the brillant yellow colour of the underside.
The butterfly is unpalatable due to toxin accumulated from the leaves of host plant. This butterfly is mimicked by Painted Sawtooth.
They breed all round the year.
