ARKANSAS - State net metering laws allow Mills to connect his wind generator to the transmission grid used by the local utility company – Carroll Electric Cooperative Corporation – and receive retail credit for the electricity he supplies. With net metering, customers use the electricity they generate first, reducing what they would normally buy from the utility. If customers generate more electricity than they use, the excess turns the electric meter backwards and the electricity goes onto the grid ALASKA-The Alaska Energy Authority Alternative Energy and Energy Efficiency at the moment, funds or manages 47 different projects totaling to over 63 million dollars which are to help lower the cost of power and to be energy efficient. An Alaska State Wind Working Group has been created to identify specific state concerns and see to the obstacles to wind development in Alaska. This is a non-profit organization. |

CALIFORNIA-California passed Amendment Bill 32 which requires the state to reduce global warming to 1990 levels by 2020. California is ranked 17th in the US for wind energy potential and leads the nation in wind energy production with the goal of powering 75% of the homes in the US. |

They produce enough energy to power 52,000 homes Flats 15 is a business that builds homes out of special concrete that is non toxic. This concrete replaces wood from trees and helps save energy. The Denver Zoo & University of Colorado are teaming together to convert animal waste into energy to power electronics. |

DELAWARE-Delaware Solid Waste Authority offers recycling for Every resident of Delaware.On August 23, September 13 & 27 Best Buy and Computer Donation Management held events so people could recycle many electronics including; computers, printers, and Tv's , for free. Many Volunteers got together to collect trash across the Kitts Hummock community. Two boy scout troops also helped |

FLORIDA-The U.S. Department of Energy says that Florida is going to try to use organic material(animal waste, plant fiber, etc…) to convert into fuel and/or electricity which could generate approximately 13.9 billion kwh(kilowatt-hours). This would supply around 15% of residential electricity needs per year. The State Government of Florida is cutting down CO2 (carbon dioxide) from automobiles and power plants. To do this, the state has to come up with strategies to reduce global climate change. |
