Global Impact

With our website, we hope to inform readers on what Global Warming is and that it is a very big problem that affects everyone. The most important thing we want them to know is what going green is and how to adapt Going Green strategies into our daily lives. We want kids and adults all over the world to be aware of this ongoing problem and know that they can help by just doing normal activities such as turning off lights, opening shades, and saving energy by opening windows instead of using the heater. We also want people to know that this is not affecting just our planet but affecting them, too, and they can help to stop it now instead of later when it will be too late. Once it is too late, we cannot change what we have done.

The inspiration of our website name (YouBeTheChange) is based on Mahatma Gandhi’s quote, “Be the Change You Wish to See in The World.” We want kids to know that they can make a difference. Our team logo (WiGreen) means that we (our team) are trying to be eco friendly and ‘we’ as a global community are starting to. The “I” means “I am green.” We put the “I” in because it lets our readers know that they can make a change. This is very important because if kids don’t believe that they can do something for the world without a special program or parents, they will not be able to make a change. With our team name and our website name, we are trying to spread the new “green” way of life.

We had over 250 participants from two countries, the United States of America and India, who contributed to our surveys, poem competition, and poster competition. Please note that all of these poems, posters, and survey data are original.

Our overall purpose is to raise awareness of Global Warming and show kids that they can make a difference by Going Green, which is a new way of living that is good for the environment and good for you, too. Recycle, reuse, reduce, and be the change.
