eagles

In 2003 the Philadelphia Eagles football team was the first team in professional sports to launch a "Go Green" campaign. They have not only built an entire website informing their fans (young and old) on how to Go Green, but they have also been doing Green things themselves.

One example of the team's efforts to Go Green is that they are running their practice field and training facility on 100% renewable wind energy. In 2008 the team bought 14 million kilowatt hours of wind power. The Eagles have also bought solar panels to help power their training facilities. These solar panels are expected to save about 26,400 pounds of carbon dioxide per year. This is equal to planting 67 trees per year.
