We wanted to know what people thought about YouTube. We asked, “Do you think YouTube interferes with your school work?” Most people agreed when they replied YouTube didn’t affect them. Most believed it’s all based on personal responsibility. One student said “I do not think YouTube interferes with my school work because I’m a responsible student”. Some people also stated they did not watch YouTube because they didn’t think there was anything interesting on the website. Students generally feel that people want to watch YouTube, no one forces them. They have options and decisions to make about what website they visit and what they watch.

YouTube also can be used for educational purposes as well. There are many videos that show "how to" lessons, such as leaning how to do geometry or tying your shoes. They also have hundreds of other educational purposes which are being ignored at times by the violente distracting videos also on the site.

Some people do agree YouTube does affect people because sometimes a friend or family member sends them a link to a funny video and after they watch that video, they might click other links to videos. Now, that’s when the problem starts. You are on YouTube and you are searching the site for a funnier video or a video with more “action” and you might not get any work done at all.
