WATER CONSERVATION

All this matter about controlling water pollution suggested, sometimes becomes impossible for you and me to do.

There are many places at home where we use water for specific purposes. So, here are some tips which we can practise at home:

  1. Bathroom:
    • Put a plastic bottle or a plastic bag heavy with pebbles and filled with water in your toilet tank. Flushing water in this manner helps you to use less water when you flush.
    • If you are taking a shower don’t keep having fun under the water instead finish your shower quick and return to work!!
    • Check for leaks and crevices in the water storage tanks.
    • Turn off water while brushing your teeth and shaving.
    • While washing clothes do not have the tap open all the time.
  2. Kitchen:
    • Do not leave the tap open all through the wash of your vessels.
    • Use less detergent so that you use less water.
    • Do not leave the taps open when you are washing vegetables.
    • Do not dispose food scraps that can block the drain pipes into the sink.
    • Do not dispose plastic tins or cans into water drains after use
  3. Outside:
        • Do not water plants during rainy days.
        • Direct the water that drips from Air Conditioner to the plants in the garden.
        • Turn off running taps wherever you see them.
        • Report to the official of the area regarding the water logging in your area.
        • Make arrangements for proper use of rainwater.
        • Go for Rainwater Harvesting.

CONSERVE EVERY DROP OF WATER THAT IS AVAILABLE TO YOU BECAUSE THERE IS ALWAYS SOMEONE ELSE WHO IS IN NEED OF IT!!!

ONE MAN’S THRASH IS ANOTHER’S TREASURE!!
