Air guitar is a way to play guitar without a real guitar. You can play an air guitar anywhere, anytime with or without music (it’s more fun with music, though). Just think that you have a guitar and start playing!

Yes. It’s a form of dance and movement and you need to listen to the music.

How does an air guitar relate to world peace?
We think that if everybody kept an air guitar in their hands they could not keep guns in their hands and that way there would not be wars in this world. And if everybody played air guitar there would be no reason to fight when everybody was so happy.

Do people contest in air guitar playing?
Yes. Since 1996 there has been an Air guitar world championship in Oulu, Finland. The World championship competition has been organized 13 times in Finland. First time it was organized in 1996. Every times it has been in Oulu (town in Finland). The competition has grown year to year and now it is a large happening. In the beginning everyone was surprised, but now everyone knows what an air guitar is.
