Air Cooler
THE PARTS REQUIRED
Air cooler body of fibre glass
Fan motor
Pump motor
Motor clamp
Pump cover
Hardware
Fan and pump switch
Fan blades
Divertor for air
Rubber bushes for motor mounting
Wheels to make it mobile
Side plastic panels
Wood wool
Water plastic pipe
Water distributer
Procedure
First the clamps are fixed to the motor and then the blades are fixed.
To the motor. This assembly is fixed to the air cooler body. The the pump is fixed to the body. And the pipe line is cut and fixed. The body is cut to fix the switch of fan and pump. And then the connections to the motors is given. A mains cable is fixed to the cooler. And then the side panels are fixed with the wood wool with a clamp mesh. This is also fitted with a water channel where the water comes and falls on the wood wool. These panels are fixed to the cooler with screws. Where ever fixing of an item to the body is there. We drill holes and fix that. The wheels take about 16 screws to fix the wheels to the body.
They make the cooler mobile. We have a tank at the bottom of the body.
Function :
The cooler works on the principle that the water drenches the pads and air passes through the damp pads and air gets cool.
The pump circulates the water. In the cooler.
The cooler consumes about 70 litres of water per day during 42 degrees temperature.
The cooler is used during summer to keep the rooms cool.
The best quality cooler can be made with an expenditure of rs 3000/-..
Sales : We have made about 70 aircooler during a span of 10 years. And
Exhaust Fan
In KVS this activity was started by our teacher in the year 1999.That was KV Hyderabad about 24 students had taken part each student have made one exhaust fan individually. In this present school KV RJY almost 30 students have completed the project. This project is done by class 10 in Hyderabad and 9 and 11 from KV ONGC Rjy.It is a self financing project. Each student carries back their exhaust fan. Each student has to spend 5 hours for the project. The spare parts are purchased from the market and given to the students. The students does the following:
1.Counting of coils
2.No. of terms
3.Length of each coil
These are all made with copper
Materials needed
1.Copper 250 grams
2.Two end covers
3.One stampings
4.Two bushes
5.Rivets
6.Shaft
7.Rotear
8.Studs
9.Nuts
10.Varnish
11.Soldering
12.End connection wires
Procedure :
Make coils of 108 cms diameter and each coil should have 80 turns.Make such coils and place them in the stampings.
This fan is used to remove dirty air, smoke etc. ,out of the room. Dirty air, smoke or warm air are light in weight than the clear air so they lifts up and to take these air out of the room, exhaust fans are placed inthe ventilators. Exhaust fans are advantgeous for the place where there is no cross ventilations for the air. Special care must be taken while fitting exhaust fans. To increase its working capacity a box type case is fitted around it which is made open from the back only. By doing this it throw out air from long distance. these exhaust fans are used in hotels and cinema halls instead of homes. In these places exhaust fans are necessary.
TABLE LAMP
Table lamp is a simple electrical instrument. In this, electric circuit of bulb is arranged accordingto requirement.
Bulb holder, On / Off Switch, Flexible wire etc. are the main parts of a table lamp.
All these are tied in a beatiful stand in the form of circuit. Though if the bulb of the table lamp does not glow then its main lead and on - off switch must be checked. But if the main lead and switch are working properly then we should replace the bulb.
Three wires must be used in the main lead for table lamp. All these wires are in different colours. Normally , red , green and black are used in the main lead. Out of these, red and black are for main supply and green is for earth. Main reason for applying green wire in the main leadis to earth the current in the stand of the table lamp. In the absence on the earth there may be shock from the table lamp.
Now a days, various attractive modelsof the table lamps are available in the market which can be used conveniently and according to the requirement. Practically their electric circuit is of same type.
TUBE LIGHT WIRING
Tube light is a tube, made of glass of 2 to 3 diameter. Inside the glass tube is pasted the layer of florescent powder. Florescent powder has such a property that it increases the glim of light to a very good extent. So only the tube light is also called the florescent tube. These days tube lights are of many colours and sizes are available in the market. To make different coloured tube lights, the polish of the colour required is done by means of polishing certain chemicals inside the tube. For example, in the milky tube light the paste of Zinc and Calcium Sulfide and for blue colour Zinc Oxide paste is polished.
There are two filaments at the two ends of the tube light. From each filament, are extended two pins. These filaments are as same as the bulb’s filament and inside the tube is filled with the organs gas.
The glass tube is fixed on the wooden or iron Patti, which has two holders at its seven ends. The size if the Patti depends upon the size of the tube light.
The place to fix starter and the choke is there on this Patti.
STARTER
The starter functions to start the procedure of glowing the tube light. In the starter, there is the small glass tube, in which helium gas is filled. This is called glow type starter. There are two foils in it with a paper condenser of 0.5 MF, connected in parallel to the foils. When the starter gets supply, then both the foils get attached to each other, which complete the circuit, and the tube light gets glowing. All the starter are not having the condensers. These types of condensers and cheap ones and but one should always purchase, the starter which have the condensers as without it. When the tube light is switched ON, the distortions will be observed in the radio, TV etc.
Fibre Glass Project
Materials required:-
1. Moulds
2. Fibre glass mats (different texture)
3. Resin
4. Catalyst
Process:-
1. Take a mould.
2. Apply wax to it.
3. A layer of resin and catalyst is applied.
4. Then one layer of fibre of fibre glass sheet is put and is e
bedded with another layer of resin and catalyst and make another layer according to the strength of the material required .
5. Now let it set for sometime and release the mould from the fibre glass item.
The item is ready.
The items which can be made with fibre glass are: -
1. Automobile parts.
2. Roof lite sheets.
3. Air cooler bodies.
4. Sports items.
We have taken up a project of making kayaks 7 feet long.
First we have brought one kayak from Kayak And Canoeing Association of Andhra Pradesh and based on that we prepared 10 piece mould. With the help of this mould we prepared Kayak.
