MACHINERY AND EQUIPMENTS AVAILABLE IN OUR SUPW LABORATORY

AIR BLOWER

It blows air into the required items. It has a motor and a blower. It has an arrangement that the air comes out through a nozzle. The machine is used to clean the surroundings from dust. It was an induction motor.

 

Plastic Sealing Machine

Plastic sealing machine is used for sealing packets after filling with items. Even liquids can be filled.
The machine has a heater which can be adjusted with thermostat which controls the temperature of the heater. We keep the plastic cover on the heater and press with a pressing arm. The plastic cover gets heated up in a line and gets sealed.
There are different sizes in the machine. We are using 12 inches machine. It operates on 220 volts.

 

 

Electrical Screw Driver

 

This is a machine used like a screw diver.

This machine will have screw driver bits.

It uses a universal motor and reversible motor so that the direction of the motors can be changed.

This machine is used to fix the screws and also remove the screws.

It uses 220 volts power supply.

 

SOLDERING IRON

This electrical instrument is the most important tool for the persons who work on electrical and electronic appliances.

MATERIALS

4.Bit

The most important part of the soldering iron is its element.This element is covered by a cover.This cover is known as element cover.

ELEMENTS OF SOLDERING IRON-
Soldering irons are of different voltage power.Mostly soldering iron of 10watts, 15watts, 25watts, 35watts and 40watts are used.
The heat from the iron increases with voltage.
If element burns out, then other element of the same voltage power can be used.

The second important part of the soldering iron is the bit.
The bit of soldering iron is made up of copperthis is also filled according to the voltage.The bit used is of same voltage as of the voltage of element.

When an element of the soldering iron burns out it has to be replaced. For this first of all the handle is opened to remove the main lead and wires of the element are made loss. Now nut on the element cover is opened to remove half of the element cover. Now the element is fitted in the same way as of the old element. In the end, bit is placed between the two elements and then cover of the element is tightened.
After fitting new element in the soldering iron, before giving supply to it the resistance must be checked on the two end ends of the main lead. In the 10 watts soldering iron this resistance must be about 1 K ohm. If the resistance between the two ends of the main lead is zero then it main lead is short. In this case remove the main lead and check the resistance of element.

 

 

 

MULTIMETER

The single meter by which Electric Potential (V), Electric Circuit (C) and the Electric Resistance (R) can be measured, is called the mutimeter.

MUTIMETER SANWA
Multimeter Sanwa P-3 is a moving coil multimeter.Its coil inductance is 500 ohms which works about 500 microampere.

There are diffrent different pink plugs in it for different uses.Thats why it is known as pin plug type multimeter.It is very popular multimeter becouse of its easy use.


Method Of Using
In the Sanwa P- 3 mutimeter there is a socket on the bottom left most portion. There is a knob just above the common plug(socket). Through the knob meter needle is adjusted on the zero on the right side of the meter.Just below the dial in this meter there is a screw, it is used to adjust the meter needle on zero on the left side of the meter.The needle of the meter must be adjusted on this zero before taking any measurements otherwise the reading will be inaccurate.Adjusting screw again and again may damage the balance of moving coil.

MEASUREMENT OF CURRENT BY MULTIMETER SANWA P-3
When current is measured with the mutimeter than it is connectd in series with the load. Three ranges are given in this multimeter for the measrurement of current. These ranges are 250mA, 10mA, 0.25mA or 250UA respectively. While measuring current in 250mA range scale of 0 to 250 of D.C.V and A is used. The value of small block in this scale is 5mA.
The second range of measuring current is 10mA. While measuring current in this range, the scale of 0 to 10 D.C.V. and A scale is used. In this scale value of small block is 0.2mA or 200(UA)

MULTIMETER

For measuring AC or DC volt, multimeter is connected in parallel across the load in the circuit. Total four ranges are given in this multimeter for measuring DC Volt. These ranges are 10V, 50V, 250V and 1000V respectively.
While measuring DC Volts in 19V range scale 0 to 10 of D.C.V. and A. scale is used. The value of a small block in this scale is 0.2V or 200 milli volt. (mv).
While measuring DC Volts in 50V range scale 0 to 50 of D.C.V. and A. scale is used. The value of small block in this scale is 1 volt.
While measuring DC volts in the third range is 250V, scale of to 250 of D.C.V.A. scale is used. The value of small block in this scale is 5 volt.
While measuring volts in 1000V DC range scale of 0 to10 D.C.V. and A. scale is used.
The reading received in this range is multiplied by 100 to get volts in 1000V range. Another method is also used in this range. In this scale of 0 to 10 D.C.V. and A. scale is used and here, 2 is considered 100, 4 is considered 400, 6 is considered 1000. in this case, the value of small block is 20V.

MEASURING MILLI – VOLTS BY SANWA P – 3
Milli volts can also be measured by multimeter Sanwa P-3. As it is already given that multimeter have three ranges for the measurement of current i.e. 250 milli ampere, 10 milli ampere and 0.25 milli ampere. To measure current in these ranges, multimeter is connected in series with the load. If meter in 0.25 milli ampere range, connected in parallel across the load then the received reading will be the voltage (potential difference). In this way, we can measure up to 250 milli volt with this multimeter. In this positin, value of a small block will be 5 milli volt.

MACHINES USED IN SUP lab

   

DRILLING MACHINE:-

This machine is used to make holes to fix some nails or bolts and nuts.

This machine uses a univesal motor.

This has got a chuck in front of it which can be adjusted to fix drilling bits.



Drill bits are made of carbide and are sharp on the sides.

We use this machine in our school to make holes on the air cooler body to fix the various parts to it.

We have another drill machine which is called electrical hammer used to drill pores on the wall to fix nails.

The drilling machine is used to make holes especially on materials like wood, fibre glass.


But to make holes on metal sheets, we need special types of bits.
