During the past five-six centuries, hundreds of species of animals and plants have become extinct. Extinction means disappearing from the earth forever. Extinction of animals has taken place mostly due to hunting by humans, or the conditions on the Earth were not suitable for their existence. Some rare creatures become extinct in the forests but can still be found under artificial conditions in zoos. Only by this, endangered species can be brought back to the wild forests by breeding them in captivity.
The whole Ecosystem depends on each and every specie. The cause for this ecological imbalance is due to the excessive exploitation of animals and plant species by us human beings. It is believed that about 20 plant species have become extinct and 1,300 plant species are endangered. Around 23 major animals have become extinct. The main causes for this ecological imbalance is hunting and poaching of animals for commercial purposes by us human beings and also due to the reckless cutting of trees for many purposes. Even pollution from chemical and industrial waste has caused extinction. All the above mentioned causes are the result of competition which is continuing for the supremacy. If this is being done now, then in the future for sure this process of destroying the green cover, biotechnology and genetic modifications and also wars will increase if the race for being superior continues at this intensity. Then a day will come when there will be no living organism on the earth except for human beings and later a day will arrive when there will be no living organism on earth.
