Now we’d like to tell you about the mountain which is called Holy mountain.
The mountain took name according to Athon mountain in Greece .The history of
the church starts in 6 th centuary,when 13 Syrian Fathers entered Tbilisi with
the aim to strengthen Cristianity in Georgia,and save the orthodox faith from
other religious invaders,David,one of the brightest Syrian monks,settled down
in Mtatsminda mountain .Soon he decided to leave Tbilisi and move to the
south -eastern part of Georgia ,to a place later named David Garejeli desert .

The place where saint David lived was used as a basement for St.David’s
church . St.David was praying all the time and in that place ,where he lived
miracle happened..The water started flowing.Nowadays,it’s also running and
cures people who are childless and blind .
