Handball is tied with a few other games being the fifth newly added sport into the summer Olympics based on it year of entry. The first modern game of handball was played toward the end of the 19th century in Denmark. The game is now played indoors due to complaining of it being played on a football field. The women’s division for this was brought into the Olympics in 1976 and is one of the most highly attended Olympic Games.
