1. Poverty:- The first and foremost reason that leads man to beg in front of someone is poverty. Some engage themselves in criminal activities and those who are left, mainly women and small kids left in despair forced go begging street to street.

2.Handicapness :- Most of the handicapped community in India or anywhere else in the world do not get any work compelling them to go begging street to street.

3. Forced begging:- Orphans found on road are often forced into this profession. Nowadays in many of the so called big cities small children are kidnapped are forced into this profession. Recently some 200 children were kidnapped in Delhi the capital of India and the police suspects all of them being used for begging purposes.

4. Inheritance :- Some get begging as a inherited a property. The sons or daughter's of beggars usually tend to become beggars too.

5.Unemployement :-This is a major factor contributing to the increasing numbers of beggars
