So far search engines seemed to be the most wonderful things created after the World Wide Web was invented. It made all information retrieval problems seem solvable. Yet, while everyone seems to be caught up in marvelling these ingenious inventions, there is surely a flip side that fewer are aware off.
The dark side. Every party involved with search engines should be aware of the harmful effects of a flipside to using search engines. Surely, everything can’t be perfect. There will always be vulnerabilities that can be exploited.
We discuss some aspects of search engines that help us delve deep into this flip side.
