Animation
is an art form where drawings seem to move. It is really an
optical illusion because of the way our eyes work.
One picture after another has to be viewed at the right speed and then things seem to move. It can done with drawings made
by hand or made on
the computer. People who animate have to be patient because
sometimes it
can take a long time to create a scene. When done well, drawings come alive and the characters seem as real as living people!
Our
purpose in creating these pages was to tell people more about
animation
and cartooning. It is an artform that isn't always given the
appreciation it deserves for how hard it is to do. We found out how
hard it was when we tried out many different ways to make a ball seem
to move and bounce!
