What is Water Pollution and Where is iA slimy-looking rivert Found?

Water pollution might be the worst type of pollution. Pollution is the gases, fumes, and garbage that make the water in lakes, rivers, or any body of water, basically sick. Actually, less than 3% of earth’s water is fresh water! Most of the everyday activities that we do without thinking, such as showering and flushing the toilet, pollute or waste our fresh water.

What Causes Water Pollution?

Water pollution is caused because of a few things that happen all the time. Humans are even polluting when we drive our cars! That fits in one huge pollution causing category, pollution caused by humans, which is everything that we do that causes pollution. Of course, we are not the only source of water pollution. There is also runoff. Runoff is when water runs off of hills, mountains, or anything like that. Of course, it carries rocks, dirt, soil, and even garbage. There is also a type of water pollution called point source pollution. That is water pollution that comes from a certain spot. The opposite, non-point source pollution, is kind of like human pollution that comes from everywhere.

Facts About Water Pollution

Water pollution A polluted river is one of the worst types of pollution. Anytime a factory dumps something into a nearby lake, or we throw garbage into the water at the beach, or even when we just drive a gas powered boat, we’re polluting the water. Polluting the water makes it hard for everyone to live. Water animals can’t live in dirty water because breathing it makes them sick, and anyone or thing that drinks water can’t drink it for the same reason. Of course, you could clean the water, but lots of people are too busy to help clean it. You could also donate to organizations or factories that clean the water.

How You Can Help

Here’s the truth: you can help! Even though you are only one of about 6,706,993,150 people in the world, you can make a difference. For starters, you can do something easy like making sure that everything that can be re-cycled is re-cycled. If you really want to help our planet, then you can go online and find a local “Go Green” group. If you prefer not to do something over to do something, that’s okay. Instead, just don’t throw garbage into the street, don’t drive EVERYWHERE, and something very important, don’t smoke, since it’s bad for you and the environment.
