The Tridoshas

According to Ayurvedic medicine, the human body consists of three primary life forces or biological humors:-

·  Vatha

·  Pitha

·  Kapha
These three Doshas are called 'The Tridoshas'. Click here for Effect of Doshas
For proper health, a balance between the life forces is essential. Any imbalance among the Tridoshas causes a state of unhealthiness or diseases.
Ayurvedic system says that this imbalance is the effect of the constant reaction of the internal environment of the body to the changes in outside environment. Then we require bringing back normalcy to the balance of these doshas, to bring back to the state of healthiness.

“Vayuh pittam kaphashchokhah shariro doshsangraha,
Manasah punarrudvisto rajash tam ev ch!!”

Means:-Three dosha vata, pitta and kapha dominate what universe and follow all activities in our body.
In every person these three doshas differ in permutations and combinations and thereby determine the physiologic constitution (prakriti) of an individual. Vata, pitta and kapha are distinctly present in every individual and express in each human being differently according to predominance of their differently qualities (gunas).
