Basic Principles of Ayurveda

Ayurveda is science of “knowledge of life” or “knowledge of longevity”. It is the oldest medical treatment system but these days it is not in practice as compared to allopath. The most fundamental and characteristic principal of Ayurveda is called “TRIDOSHA” or “THREE HUMORS”. Tridosha is base of Ayurveda.

Ayurveda believes that all matter are composed of five elements- earth (prithvi), water (jala), fire (agni), wind (vayu) and sky (aakash) called “PANCHMAHABHOOTAS”.

The structural aspect of is made up of five aspect of the body is governed by three biological humors. These biological humors are called “TRIDOSHA”. These Tridosha are:-

1. Vata
2. Pitta
3. kapha

Vata, pitta and kapha are responsible for disease in our body. Vata, pitta and kapha are present in every cell, tissue and organ.
