Group Reflections

Karen

After doing this project, I learnt more about the ICQ and SMS language. Nowadays, many teenagers use this language as a platform of communication, but they don't ever realize that there are lots of disadvantages in using this language, so I hope that this website can help them.

Also, I would like to express my thanks to all my group mates as we helped each other to finish this website. It was a great experience to work with them.

Jenna
Of course I used this kind of language before I did this project as I am also a teenager! But after doing this project, I really understand the harmful effects it brings to us. I will try my best to avoid using this kind of language and now I did it!
In this project, our group mates become much closer than before and I learnt much about information technology from this competition. I must thank all my group mates for their co-operation and help in this project.

Carol

After doing this Thinkquest project,  I learnt how to cooperate with others, things about SMS and MSN language and also, improved my computer skills.
Although sometimes we’ll argue, we don’t last for long, because through this, we learn how to cooperate with each other.
This project, working with Karen, Jenna, Minnie, Jennifer and Queenie, is the most memorable experience ever.

Queenie

After working with my groupmates Karen, Jenna, Carol, Hiu Tung and Jennifer  in this project, I learnt that communication and cooperation among all of us is very important.
Though we have quarrels during this project, we still solve it within ourselves. We even have a closer connection together.
Apart from learning how to cooperate, I also learn a lot more about SMS and MSN languages . I can relate it in my daily life. It is much more convienient and useful when I text.
In conclusion, I think our group’s project is successful and that we gain a lot during it. We will relate the skills we learnt in our future projects.

Jennifer

After this project, I learned more about the positive and negative side of SMS and ICQ language. But this kind of language is more harmful than useful.  Because there are many teenagers and students using SMS and ICQ language, we should  persuade them not to use it. We also found out the harmful effects of technology and we should beware of the negative sides of technology.

Wong Hiu Tung

           After working on this project, I have learned a few things.
First, I have learned more about Msn and Sms languages. In fact, I have used these languages in my daily life when I chat with people on the internet. But through this project, I have connected with more “emoticons” and “shortened English”, which I have never seen some of them before. Therefore,  this project broadens my knowledge base.
Second, I have learned to use different ways to find information. At the beginning,  I mostly depend on the internet for information, but through this project, I have tried to conduct an interview and a survey on my blog for information.
Third, I have learned how to find the pieces of information I need from the whole bunch of different pieces of information.  After  the first-stage researching, to our surprise, we have found a lot of information. We sorted them out and picked the useful information we needed.
Lastly, I have learned how to co-operate with other people – my group mates. I have also learned how to diverse the jobs in order the work faster.  Although we have limited time to work on this project, we can finish it quickly.
