We’ve done an online survey among our schoolmates. We have received 67 replies. Here are the results:

Q1: What is the most remarkable advertisement you've met recently?

The fetishist boy’ advertisement from Tempo is such a good example for hard definition of misleading / creative advertisement. According to our survey, 52% think that ‘fetishist boy’ advertisement is creative; while 48% think that it’s encouraging fetishism and may confuse people.



Q2:  Which type of advertisements do you think is the most effective?

Most people think that advertisments on  the TV is the most effective while the least of them think that advertisments on poster are effective.



Q3: Do you think that the whole society has been affected by advertisements?


Majority people think that the society has probably been affected by advertisments and only a  small amount of people think that the society is not affected by advertisments.


Q4: Which of the following categories do you think was affected by advertisement in the most sweeping way?


Almost half of the people who did the survey think that teenagers are affected by advertisement in the most sweeping way. Coming secondly are children from 7-12.  



Q5: According to Q4, define whether the major effect is a positive one or negative one.


According to Q4, more than half think that the major effect is a negetive one and less than half think that it is positive.



Q6: Hence, give an example.

  • Some respondents think that advertisements can influence children to plead their parents to buy that advertised product for them but somehow it may be useless. It causes a deceive and misleading. However, some think that by advertising the product, the sale volume may increase and stimulate the economy during this’ financial tsunami’.
  • Some respondents think that people may act out or mock the actions of the advertisements. Teenagers or children may easily taken in by advertisements and the children's value over the morals might affected. They may want to get on with the trend and buy the things advertised.
  • However some think that advertisements can be used to combat against drugs and smoking. And can certainly provide more various kind of information all over the world.



Q7:What do you think of advertisement itself? Good or bad?


More than  75% of people who did the survey think that advertisment is good.



Q8: Have you ever been misled bye advertisements?


75% of people said that they have never been misled by advertisments and 25% of people said that they have been missled by advertisments before.



Q9: Hence, if yes, how many time(s)?


Among the people who have been misled by advertisments, half of them had the same expercience for more than 5 times.






Though the survey, we find out that advertisments nowadays have influenced our life.  Sometimes advertisments may be very attractive and  creative, some viewers (especially children) may also try to imitate the actions from them, but they may however carry some wrong messages.  Therefore, we should not trust in advertisments all the time as they may not tell you the 
truth.
