They are the leading source of income for the criminal elements in our communities; breeding violence, the availability of weapons, murders in the border regions, the devastating effects of drug use, and a source of income for gangs. The demand for drugs in the U.S. has created problems for decades. Drugs and the money they provide to criminals are powerful enemies.
