Celtic Myths
Origin of Celtic Myths
The Celtic myths from came from Scotland and Ireland. A long time ago the two countries were related. No myths survived from Romanized areas. The greatest body of myths came from Ireland, which was untouched by the Romans. Some mythic material was destroyed by Viking marauders. The Celts preferred to pass on their sacred teachings and myths orally. After the Celtics converted to Christianity in the fifth century, the monks recorded the myths.
