How Customers can Avoid Being Misled by Ads

Lots of people watch advertisements each day, so with all these high-tech moderations, most things in the ad can be adjusted, leading to a lot of exaggerations. To avoid misleadments, especially to youths or the elderly, we have to be more careful. After all, how do we know if the ad is telling the truth about their "flawless products"?  Here are some tips that may prove useful when you want to buy a product, but can’t seem to make up your mind.

1.Firstly, we should choose products from a good, trustworthy source.
Nice big companies have plenty of stores all over the place, in main streets, shopping malls, or even next to the library, so it shouldn't be too hard to find. Also note that I typed "stores", not little weeny "stalls" on the edge of the street, which brings us to the next tip.

1.    2.Do NOT to buy any pirated goods.

No matter how much they seem to be like the real thing, don’t take any risks. Not only is it against the law for buying illegal copied products, you are also insulting the company that made the real product. What’s more, it may contain dangerous substances which can lead to undesired effects.

3.  Ask others who have already brought the product for their opinions.

Ask around your family, relatives, friends…anyone you know you can trust. Ask them how they felt when they were using the product, or after using the product. What was it like? Is it worth buying? Choose the one you think is the best for yourself.

4.  Avoid having any improper or improper transactions of products.

People these days are crafty. Lots of crooks set up ads in newspapers with a telephone number, sometimes even an address of their “office”. The office is probably only a rented room, and they won’t give you anything but worthless phony fakes. We should always report any suspicious “companies” to the police.

5.  Consult product specialists or experts before buying.

You can contact the store owner with the product you’re interested in, or even visit their store, and ask about the most popular selling item, the item with best results etc. Then, after a quick skim, if none of them suit you, try another store. Politely say, “Thank you I’ll see about it later” before you finish off if you didn’t get anything.

6.  Always check the price and expiry date of the product.

A trustworthy product from a trustworthy company always shows its price tag and expiry date. If you don’t see it there, then that means either one of the two things. The first is that the product is probably on a shelf and the price tag is on a little card next to it. This always or usually happens in supermarkets or convenience stores. The second is that it is a pirated item! Get away from there quick.

7.  Compare prices of two or more similar items from different companies.

Sometimes you will walk into stores with lots of different mumbo-jumbo products stacked all over. There should be signs above those racks telling you where they’re from. If you see two or more similar products, there is no need to think back at the advertisements, just pick the cheapest.

8.  Go online to check out the company webpage.

When an advertisement product catches your eye, go online to the website (posted up at the end of the commercial). Find all the list of products, and check out their prices, their uses. Find the few you like and then contact the staff to ask about it.

9.  Avoid responding to advertisements which exaggerated.

Phrases such as “it’s too good to be true”, or “the best you could find on Earth” or “gift(s) from the gods” are giveaways. Try products with a more modest touch in it, for the others may hugely disappoint. We should use all of our common sense to deal with these, because sometimes trustworthy companies make them too. And lastly…

10. Don’t click on page ads or pop-up ads.

These ads are each and every one, huge misleading arrows. Some may contain viruses to potentially harm your computer or laptop. You may come across these ads when you click into a website or scroll to the bottom or top of a webpage. Whatever you do, don’t click into them.
