?Did You Know

Hopscotch

There are many variations of this game around the world. It is numerically derived by drawing grids on the ground. It can be played in a group or alone.
It involves hopping in and out of grids drawn on grounds. Markers such as stones, seeds etc are used though flat stones found on the roadside are the most widely used. The hopping is done with one foot but if there are two squares are adjacent then both the feet are used.
A player is decalred out if the stone fails to fall into the square or loses balnce and uses a second hand or foot.

A piece of chalk and some stones are the only requirements.

It develops a lot of strategy and balance.

This is the only game which can be played by any number of players.

Quotation

"The schoolyard games have been lost. Kids don't know how to play four-square, a lot of people don't know how to play hopscotch."
