Group Discussions
When we were doing the project, we did a lot of discussions.
Some of our group members play msn.
They think that it is great fun,
but wastes a lot of time.
We discuused about the goods and bads of using SMS/MSN/ICQ language.
Using SMS/MSN/ICQ language is good when we are msning, smsing and icqing.
This is a fast channel for communication.
Chatting online may help to boost the relationship between friends,
We all agree that playing msn is really enjoyable,
chatting online once in a while is acceptable.
But some people don't know how to control themselves
and it causes them a lot of trouble.
If they chat online too often,
maybe wthey will be too used to write in SMS/MSN/ICQ language.
Then,
when they are doing something wich is formal,
maybe they will write in SMS/MSN/ICQ language.
And this will take time to correct their mistakes.
Our group members have experience that once they start playing.
It's really hard to correct.
Jessie said that it affected her language writing skills,
therefore she spent less time on it.
However,
we also agree that it is a good way to relax and rest when we are under great pressure,
so we think that it is absolutely fine chatting online if you are under control of yourself.
