Background Information

    In the last few months, our group has consulted numerous secondary information sources about Youtube—a popular video-sharing website.

    According to Harrisin interactive News Online, 42% of U.S. adults who have watched a video on Youtube, and 33% uses Youtube frequently.

    In Youtube ‘Commercial Content Is Copyrighted’, it was said that “Once we become aware of an unauthorized use, we will remove the video promptly. That is the law.”

    Also, Youtube would remove inappropriate contents, for examples violent videos. Youtube users can flag content that they feel is inappropriate. Once it’s flagged, Youtube removes it.

    However, there are still millions of videos that are inappropriate on the website.

    In wftv.com, there was a shocking news about teens posting inappropriate videos on Youtube. A 16-year-old girl was attacked by a group of teens. And someone had recorded it and posted the video on Youtube for satisfaction.

    Some countries, including China, Turkey, Brazil, Iran and Thailand had blocked access to Youtube due to inception. And numerous schools in the world blocked Youtube to prevent young students to watch videos not suitable for their age. Youtube had been banned in Turkey for two times in response to political videos.

     Although there are many disavantages of Youtube, some people can really make good use of it.  From the information in the net, a famous online singer in Hong Kong, Kellyjackie uploaded her song He Invites Me to Disneyland  and gradually became famous

    In conclusion, Youtube is commonly used around the globe, it consists of both good and bad videos.
