CULTURE 

As the Kolis are the founders of Mumbai they are also the founders of Mumbai's cultural heritage. Their culture is uniquely ahead. The culture of the koli is generally based on the sea. Further it may include the preaching of deities related to sea or festivals having a communion with the low tides and high tides. Their dances occur in congruence with good and bad seasons of fishing. Their dances also portray fishing scenes etc. The Kolis believe that the sea and fishing are their life and livelihood. Their culture is vast and varied. The Koli culture is very ancient but it remains as simple as ever. Many people take advantage of them due to their simplicity. They are an important cultural heritage of India. We can also say that they are the conservers of the cultural vitality as well as the conservers of natural mangrooves of the subcontinent. They on the other hand are having various cultural sterotypes in their society which radically older than that of the many others in the subcontinent. They are still primitive and they do not want to change their cultural habits accoding to the changing world.
