Ajith |
The main part that I did in this project was web designing, I was the only one in the team who knew how to use Adobe dreamweaver, flash softwares. I taught the team how to use it step by step and assigned each of them a task to complete. My favorite part in this project was that it was very interesting to work with young friends, going on field trips etc. I learned how to organize and work as a team. Through this project I have understood the many values of seeds. |

I was the one very keen on working on a project about seeds because it is one of my hobbies to collect rare seeds. The main part of the project that I worked on was the organization of the exhibition. In our team I worked to prepare the scrap book. I also taught the song on seeds to my group. It was not very easy to pick up dreamweaver but ajith helped us being very patient with us. There is nothing like a favorite part in the project to me because I enjoyed the entire working. |
Nivedida |
My main contribution to the project was to prepare powerpoint presentations and linking it to the web. I organised the seed collage competition in our school, and helped give out prizes. I also helped in taking pictures of seeds in the school. My favorite part of the project was the field trip. I learned some technical aspects of web designing with the help of Ajith. What I learned from the topic that seeds are valuable not only for today but also for the years to come. |

The main role I did in this project was making the movie of the medicinal seed market for the web page. This helped my team, because it was difficult to explain to the shopkeepers why we were shooting their store and needed their co-operation to take the film. I did the survey of seeds used in the kitchen and my friends helped in taking the pictures. The skills I learned were how to use the software programs Dreamweaver and Flash. The important thing I learned about seeds is that they are so valuable. |
Harini |
The part that I did the most was movie making and editing the movie. I also made Our Glossary page. My favorite part in this project was going on the field trips and discovering all the seeds .I’am happy that now I am a bit comfortable with dream weaver. The skill that I learned in this project was how to edit a movie. I showed our team how to edit and make a movie. The most important thing that I learned from all these experiences, was that unity is strength. Working in such a diverse team was a great experience. Now I realize how wonderful seeds are to life. |

One of my main parts of this project was to help with the Exhibition and the mime. I participated in the seed collage, took pictures and made powerpoint presentations .I learned the botanical names of seeds. I worked on the introduction page. I had the most fun when we went on our field trips. I think that doing this project taught me to be more focused because when you get distracted, you miss out on a lot of work. I helped my team by making the presentations, contributing to the brochure ,acting in the skit, taking pictures, and by finding information. I learned that seeds are not only future plants but they have a lot of value. |
About us
Team Collaboration
Our team worked out a team work plan to collaborate. The first way we collaborated was by setting up a plan to communicate. We did this by getting the phone numbers, email and meeting in person with the permission of our coach and principal. Our team being from different grades had to communicate on the project each one of us had different ideas. We did it by a brainstorming session.
Next we had to unlearn and learn new technology to create the website.
We interacted with each other every day on phone to check the progress. We never failed to meet every week.
Since each of us had a different task to complete, we had to collaborate for the final form of the project. We set goals and dead lines and helped each other achieve the goal.We could achieve only working in a team. Our team really worked hard and very well together.
Team Diversity
Our team members belong to different grades, diverse backgrounds and believe in different religious practices. But none of this was a hindrance to our team work. We speak different languages and belong to different hometowns. Some of us have computers with net connections at home, some of us do not.We had free time at school at different hours.till we made up and found time to meet All that mattered to us was the success of our project. We did learn a lot from each other. That is why we feel our diversity brought us together and enhanced our capacity to learn.
Mrs.K.P.Suma : " This is the first ThinkQuest team I have coached and the experience was rewarding and a memorable one for me.
I personally thank OEF for training me how to create projects.
Though I teach in the primary classes,I did not find it difficult getting the students from high school to team in the project.
It was mainly because I was not well versed with dream weaver.
It was a challenge to get a team from different grades.
But the team really worked well and co-operated with each other to finish the project.
Scaffolding was the main task I did.
The students on this team were truly inspiring.
They demonstrated boundless energy and dedication in working together
to achieve their goals.
Mr.Harishankar was a real happy person to be and work with. He took the flash and animation classes.
I’m truly happy that I’m a part of this project."
