                                             Uses of pi

Pi is considered as one of the most important constants in Mathematics

Physics. pi is involved in many formulae from Mathematics, Physics

and Engineering.

• You can find the circumference of a circle by multiplying pi π (which is equal to 3.14 or 22 / 7) with the diameter of the circle.
• If you want to calculate the circumference of a circle whose diameter is 4, its circumference is equal to 3.14*4 = 12.56
• If you do not know the diameter of a circle but know it’s radius, you can multiply the radius by 2, and therefore find the diameter.

In science, pi is used frequently calculating physical dimensions. For eg., electricity is produced in waves called sin waves. This is related to the constant pi. Also, while calculating the position of stars in  skies , astronomers use maths, in which pi is required.
