Long time ago,
pandan duri was not well commercialized in
Indonesia, beside the big size that the plant
has, this plant also can not be consumed by
animal, but the craftsmen have the innovation to
change it into a very good product that can give
profit to them.
The handicraft that
is usually made from pandan duri is rug, but the
product is not well commercialized because not
all people like it. Finally the craftsmen try to
create new products from it such as: hat,
sandals, bags, pencil cases, and many others and
in fact those products can give more profit to
them. Many people not only from Indonesia but
also abroad interested in this product and this
product has entered the international market.
Related to that
fact, we want to open the business especially in
the unique handicraft that made from pandan duri.
In our business, we joint with the craftsmen who
make the handicrafts and we sell the products,
such as: bags, pencil cases and others. From
that business we hope that we can get profit and
enter the global market as well.
Besides
getting profit from the business, we also want
to conserve and commercialize the plants which
exist in Indonesia, because we realize that in
Indonesia the commercialization from Pandan is
very rare.
