Because the Equine Influenza was spreading so quickly travelling restrictions had to be put in place. These restrictions were tougher in some zones than others depending on the severity of the disease.

Restrictions of movement include (depending on zones):
• Horses can not leave the property they live on.
• Moving horses within the zones can be done without a permit, all you need is a waybill.
• When moving horses interstate you must fill out a Queensland Horse Inter-zone Declaration. On this form you must include imformation about you, your horse and your destination.

It is best to isolate horses to prevent spreading of the disease.
