GLOBAL ISSUES

Physical disabilities occur everywhere in the world. They occur in developed counties, as well as in the poor developing nations. According to the United Nation 1 in every 10 kids around a world has some kind of disability. Many international organizations, like World Health Organization, are trying to deal with issues of physical disabilities.

1. EQUALITY	Equality means having the same opportunities in life. In many countries around the world, people with physical disabilities face discrimination. They do not have same opportunities for education and wok. Sometimes they are bullied, teased and victims of crime.
2. PREVENTION	Some physical disabilities could be prevented. For example, some physical disabilities can be prevented during pregnancy, by visiting doctor and taking vitamins. Many injuries could be prevented with safety equipment like baby car seats.
3. CONFLICTS AND WARS	World Health Organization reports that for every child that dies in the war, three will become disabled for the rest of their lives. Landmines are one of the major causes of disabilities in some countries that went through war. UNICEF found that almost 10,000 children a year become physically disabled because of the landmines. Therefore conflicts and wars are major cause of physical disabilities in the world.
