ABOUT OUR SITE
Imagine if you could not walk to your class; if you could not raise your hand to speak;if you had to watch a soccer game from the sideline every single time because you may get sick or your muscles are too weak, if you could not make your muscles do what you want them to, even if you just want to smile...
While most of us take these small things for granted, many of our peers spend a lifetime unable to do it. They spend each day bound to wheelchairs, depending on others to help them when the only way up is by the stairs, and face uncertain future of limited opportunities and even discrimination. Some depend on medication or assistive technology to speak or live a normal life.
Our site is created to raise awareness of challenges faced by those of us who have to live with physical disabilities. But it is also designed to show our similarities, because we all have the same dreams and goals for the future. Our site is deigned for students, teachers, and anyone else who wants to make our world a kinder, more fair place. We hope that our site will help educate and inspire people to join the effort to make our world a world of opportunity for all of us by celebrating our differences, rather than judging and discriminating against those who look or function differently.
Thank you for being a part of our (Not So) Different World.
