However, for many people a dream of safe home is just that - a dream. Today's world is facing numerous issues surrounding housing. Poverty, natural disasters and industrialization have caused migration of people to large cities. Cities, built years ago to support a much smaller population, are busting at the seams - infrastructure is becoming outdated and inadequate. Housing prices are on the rise, meaning that the number of people who are homeless or live in substandard conditions is increasing rapidly. The world of the 21st century must find the answers to the many issues of housing.

This site explores housing issues and solutions as we face an uncertain housing future. It is created to raise awareness of global need for sound housing policies and development, as well as to provide an overview of current situation and efforts to deal with rising housing crisis. It can be used by students. teachers and general public to find information and get ideas on taking action for the future.
