There were several occasions which both sides decided to ceasefire. This compromise was short lived, and each side continued to bomb one another which caused the fighting to carry on. In May 2007, bombing started again in the streets of Gaza. Around 20 days later at least 50 Palestine’s were killed from the attacks.
The Second War
Elected leaders of both sides came together to try and cease the fighting but the peace talk did not last. The fighting continued along with the deaths of many people. During the second battle of Gaza, the Hamas were trying to keep the tension down and keep their side of the deal. The Hamas realized how many innocent people were dying and also that they were not gaining anything from killing each other. So they decided to keep the tension down for awhile, but the Fatahs continued to keep bombing because they refused to share the small piece of land with the Hamas. This forced the Hamas to fight back.
