Protecting
the Great Wall
In the article, Great
Wall has Great Fall, The parts of the Great Wall that were
made out of brick and stone are now used for photos, and postcards. The
parts that are falling over were made out of mud and sand. The
sandstorms that happen in China near the Great Wall, wear down the wall
that was made of mud
and sand. To reduse the wearing down of the Great Wall, Chinese people
are builing a second Great Wall called the Great Green Wall. The
goverment planted millions of trees with big roots to hold the soil
down so that the soil won't blow away and wear down the Great Wall. The
Chinese Government made a law in 2006 that said you can't take any of
the Great Wall rocks. (12) According to the article, China's Great Wall, What
used to happen was that people would take
away some of the Great Wall rocks and use them in different buildings.
This would cause the Great Wall to shorten in time. In 2002 the World
Monuments Fund added the Great Wall of China to the Hundred Most
Endangered Sites on Earth(16-20).
