  The Longest Cemetery
   Did you know that the Great Wall of China is the "Longest Cemetery on Earth?" According to the book, "China" by Frederick Fisher this is because the Chinese people who were building the Great Wall of China, died of starvation or exaustion. History
   According to the website, China Highlights, no one really knows how long the Great Wall is, but it is more then 3,500 miles long. It extends westward from the China Sea town of Shanhaigvan to Gansu province.(n. page) According to the article, China's Great Wall, it is about 25 feet tall. (16-20) In the website article, China Highlights, in the past Chinese dynasties had a hand in re-building, repairing, lenghening, modifing, and preserving the Great Wall of China. (n. page) In the article, Great Wall has Great Fall, the Great Wall of China was built more then 2,000 years ago. (12)  There were atleast 1 million people who worked on the fablous Great Wall.  Accoring to the book, China, The Great Wall goes over mountain ranges, vallys, etc. In the article, Great Wall Has Great Fall,  The Great Wall was mainly built to protect the Chinese Empire from the Mongolians and other intruders who wanted to enter. According to the book, China, During the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644) the Great Wall of China was 6,400 kilometers (4,000) miles) of the country side. But during the Qing Dynasty the Great Wall was left to fall into ruins. In the article, China's Great Wall, The Great Wall is most likely the best known symbol for China's history.

Protecting the Great Wall
  
    In the article, Great Wall has Great Fall, The parts of the Great Wall that were made out of brick and stone are now used for photos, and postcards.The parts that are falling over were made out of mud and sand. The sandstorms that happen in China near the Great Wall, wear down the wall that was made of mud and sand. To reduse the wearing down of the Great Wall, Chinese people are builing a second Great Wall called the Great Green Wall. The goverment planted millions of trees with big roots to hold the soil down so that the soil won't blow away and wear down the Great Wall. The Chinese Government made a law in 2006 that said you can't take any of the Great Wall rocks. (12) According to the article, China's Great Wall, What used to happen was that people would take away some of the Great Wall rocks and use them in different buildings. This would cause the Great Wall to shorten in time. In 2002 the World Monuments Fund added the Great Wall of China to the Hundred Most Endangered Sites on Earth(16-20).
 
A Wonder of the World  
    According to the article, China's Great Wall, The Great Wall is a "Wonder of the World." The Great Wall of China has great height, history, and future. The Great Wall used to protect the Chinese from invaders, but now the Chinese protect the Great Wall from sandstorms and other things that can wear down the Great Wall and its beauty.
