We are from the state of Nagaland, one of the twenty eight states of India located in the eastern offshoots of the Himalayas,
gently cradled on mother nature's arms. We attained our statehood 35 years ago on 1st december 1963 and became the 16th state of the Indian Union.
We dwell in the lushy green hills where many species of flora and fauna yet to be discovered are found. Our society is subdivided into sixteen tribes belonging to separate districts. Colourful clothing, ornaments, delicious cuisines and warm feeling of hospitality adorns us. We belong to the Mongoloid race and since we live in the hills, we are called "The People of the Hills".
