Kelson

Hello. My name is Kelson. I come from a family of Chinese origins who settled in Malaysia before moving over to Singapore. Having influenced doubly by two sides to do repetition learning, I am deeply rooted to the brute force method of memorizing.

When I was young, my mother taught me the alphabets already. This enhanced my learning experience and I breezed through primary school, except for my PSLE. I under-performed and only achieved 254, instead of the expected 266 score as I was in the Gifted Education Program.

From then, I started to question my learning techniques. After much thought, I discovered that my memory was very bad. In my family, I was often the one who would misplace things. Up till now, I still do.

Then I came to Secondary School. As I was ignorant of memory techniques, I continued to use repetition memorization. However, as I was good in my subjects, I was able to achieve a relatively acceptable score.

Now, in Secondary 2, things start to get harder. Mathematical equations and chemical equations have many rules, which need to be memorized. New words in Chinese and English are needed to be known. More and more facts needed to memorize in Geography and History. The amount of information was overwhelming.

That was why I decided to do this project. I discovered how my memory can be improved dramatically and help my life a lot, but I still cannot change. I have grown too reliant on the brute force method to use the new memory techniques. That is why I hope that my project can help out the new generation to have much better memory than their predecessors.

Many difficulties and obstacles were in our way when we started this project. With Joseph Lee to help organize things, we managed to successfully get our information. As I am in charge of the content of the website, it was up to me to do most of the content for our group. Luckily, my group members helped me out by editing, helping me to do some of the content which I had no idea how to do. Although I had to do a lot very well in a short time, with the help of my group members, we managed to produce top quality work.
